What is a product placement ?
A product placement is a marketing strategy. The goal is that product or service are highlighted by known people.
In our time of technology, companies use the method of product placement on Social Media and especially on Instagram.
Celebrities who make product placements on Social Media can be models, actors, singers, popular personalities and even TV reality shows celebrities.
The big problem with these advertisements is that sometimes the products are not effective or really conform to their description.
Celebrities are not always honest. They don't care because they are paid and young people active on networks can be tricked by trusting their idol.
This is why celebrities on social media are influencers, but not every time in the good way.
Indeed, the market of sponsored posts is estimated at 6.5 billion in 2019 according to the study of InfluencerMarketingHub, and should exceed 20 billion in 2020 !
Product Placement on Instagram !
Brands promote Instagram for their product placements because it is the second best known and most used social network in the world and its use is well suited to this type of advertising. In fact, the cost of a post sponsored by an influencer of 100,000 followers on Instagram is between € 800 and € 1,500.
However, product placements also invade social networks like youtube, snapchat, twitter …
They are everywhere and although they can be useful by advising us and making us want, or they can be scams. This is especially dangerous when anyone can see these ads and anyone can make them.
