If we take a few step in the past, the ideal women and body was Marilyn Monroe, size 14 UK. Now it is models like Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber size 6 UK. How can the ideal of beauty switch like that and in which way it is bad for the growing population?

We live in a world where likes, comments and how many people followed you is extremely important. This is the new way of communication.

Most of the social media are about looking pictures of other people, selfies at parties, at the beach, at home… We constantly compare ourselves with other and unfortunately most of the time we are jealous about the way they live, how they look like.

Based on a study conducted by the University of York in Canada, the fact for young ladies to watch and comment pictures of other women reduce their satisfaction of their own body.

When the body is watched and evaluated it cause an increase of the dissatisfaction of the body” Rachel Rodgers, doctor in psychology.

Young girls become addicted to social media and begin to be more stick with themselves. Girls thinks that what they see is true, whereas is not, most of the pictures are retouch. They start thinking this is the way they have to look like.

This can lead to troubles of body shame, eating behaviour, anorexia, bulimia, a decrease of their self-confidence. They can also push to do plastic surgery (to look like the Kardashian for example). A study run by Le parisien reveals that people between 18-34 are most likely to do plastic surgery that people between 34-60.
