Why the like is so important for us on Social Medias ?
At the beginning, the « like » is just a function, a button to show that we appreciate a content. It exists on all networks like; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Spotify, Netflix…..
Some people share their whole life on social medias. Their goal is therefore to be appreciated by the people who follow them and whom they sometimes do not even know. Likes are very important to them because this is how they know if they interest others or not. If they have a lot of « Like », they are happy and if they haven’t, they can depress.
This feeling is felt by influencers and famous people but also normal people. Some people even decide to buy « like ».
This proof of desire to be loved revealed in plain sight has brought many people into depression and worse.
To fight this, in november 2019, the CEO of Instagram announced the removal of likes on Instagram. Step by step, the application will hide the like counters that everyone could see.
The positive points of the « Like »…
On social networks like Netflix, online store sites, and even applications for music (Deezer, youtube, Spotify etc), we can know thanks to the number of like the opinion of others. If something have a lot of like, we are sure that it’s a good thing because a majority of people validated it.
This simple button really matters a lot for us.
