The Cyberbullying or cyberharassment is a form of bullying using electronic means. Cyberbullying is a harassment that arose during this new technological era.

Behind a smartphone, people with bad intentions feel protected and insult harder than in the real world. Also, when we write a message or a comment, we realize less the power of our words and as our interlocutor does not see our facial expression, the messages can be misinterpreted.

While social media is a way to express yourself freely, haters waste that. Online harassment is powerful just as street harassment and many people have become depressed after experiencing it.

The big problem today is that young people and children have access to social networks. They can use them in the wrong way, and then, be insulted.

On internet, doing something is more dangerous than the real life because it is visible to thousands of people and the moment is immortalized.

According to a study by the « Pew Research Center », 59% of teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 have experienced cyberbullying. It’s a number sadly very high.

Insults, rumors, physical threats ... social media is a quick and easy way to harm someone. Boys and girls are equally likely to be victims of cyberbullying, but adolescent girls are more likely to face false rumors as well as receiving sexual images without their consent.

Create a fake account is also a kind of cyberbullying because someone steal the identity of another without his consent.

The solution

The ideal way to stop this kind of harassment is to file a complaint but for the investigation to succeed, you need evidence.
